A Life of Love, Loyalty, Friendship, and an Unforgettable Heart
At just 52 years old, Justin left this world far too soon, leaving behind a legacy that cannot be measured by the years he lived, the business he built, or the success he achieved, but by the countless lives he touched along the way. Some people spend a lifetime trying to make a difference. Justin did it simply by being himself.
He had a heart of gold, a generous spirit, and a way of making people feel as though they mattered. His friendships were not measured in numbers, but in loyalty, laughter, shared memories, and the kind of love that endures long after goodbye.
Justin grew up in the Quail Valley neighborhood in Missouri City, where he spent his formative years before graduating from John Foster Dulles High School in Sugar Land in 1993. He continued his education at Texas State University, graduating in 1998 and beginning the next chapter of his life.
Justin’s professional life was a testament to his determination, loyalty, and belief in the value of hard work. At just 22 years old, fresh out of college, Justin began working for K&N Appliance Gallery that would become much more than a place of employment. It became his life's work. For three decades, he devoted himself to the business, growing alongside it, learning every facet of its operation, and building relationships that would last a lifetime. Eventually, through years of dedication and perseverance, he became the owner of the very company where his career had begun.
Justin was the beloved son of Scherrie Lee Hawes and Richard Douglas Hawes, and the grandson of Evelyn and Eddie Hawes, and Helen and Elmer Watson, all of whom preceded him in death. The love they gave him remained a part of who he was.
After the death of his parents and grandparents, his family became his “True Blues,” Ronnie Blandford, Blair Drenner, Greg Lambert, Peter Wisniewski, and his beloved partner, Catherine Hardy. They stood beside him through the good days and the difficult ones, for the moments worth celebrating and the battles that few people saw. They loved him, shared in his laughter, and became an irreplaceable part of his life.
Though he is no longer here to answer the phone, share a laugh, offer advice, or walk through the door, he will remain present in the stories told around tables, in the memories shared among friends, in the work he leaves behind, and in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Rest peacefully, Justin. You were loved more than you may ever have realized, and you will be missed more than words can say.
