Justine Josephine Rivoire

Justine J. Rivoire, 94, departed this life on June 18, 2013. She is survived by her daughter, Nita, her sister Burnette Boyett and husband T.P., and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She grew up and graduated from Rosenberg High School. Later she attended Massey’s Business College. She met and later married Olin G. Rivoire. They lived most of their married life in Houston, where Olin, a graduate of Texas A&M, had his electrical engineering business, Rivoire and Associates. She volunteered 6 years at a hospital while in S. Dakota and continued that work at the Christian Home for the Aged here in Houston for 11 more years. Later she spent 30 years volunteering in Alief ISD schools. In 1950, she became a member of West University Church of Christ and was active in church activities until 2006. Justine will be remembered for her love of people who she always greeted with a smile and kind words. She is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Lillie Jurica, her sister Lorine ”Dolly” Pearson, and her beloved husband of more than 42 years, Olin. The family wishes to thank all the Parkway Place staff and Buckner Hospice caregivers for their loving, compassionate care these last 7 years. Visitation will be on Friday, June 21, 2013 from 6-9 pm at Forest Park Westheimer. Funeral services will be at West University Church of Christ, 3407 Bissonnet, Houston, TX at 10 am on Saturday, June 22, with a private family interment at Forest Park Westheimer. Memorials may be made to West University Church of Christ Children’s Program or to the Czech Cultural Museum of Houston, 4920 San Jacinto at Wichita, Houston, TX 77004
