Katharine "Kitty" Elizabeth Durkin

Kitty was a proud graduate of Sam Houston High School. She met the love of her life, John Durkin, in Houston, and the two were married on December 18, 1977. Together, they built a loving family and shared many happy years.

Kitty dedicated over 20 years of service as a loan officer at Harris County Federal Credit Union, where she was known for her kindness, professionalism, and caring nature toward her colleagues and clients.

Outside of work, Kitty found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending time at the beach and cherished every moment with her grandchildren, Morgan and Tyler, who brought her endless happiness.

Kitty was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Metts. She is survived by her spouse, John Durkin; daughter, Kelly Winfield, and her husband, James; son, Chris Durkin; grandchildren, Morgan and Tyler Winfield; sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Larry Lockhart; and cousins, Susan and Bruce Stephans.

Kitty will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. Her gentle spirit and joyful presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
