Katherine M. Klawinski

She was born July 20, 1946, in Houston, TX to Joseph Marion Bartkowiak and Katherine Marie Skobla. She was raised alongside her fraternal twin sister, JoAnn Bartkowiak Dierschke, with whom she shared a lifelong bond.

Katherine attended Aldine Senior High School, where she made treasured lifelong friends and met her high school sweetheart, Thomas Andrew Klawinski. The two shared 56 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and family.

Katherine worked at Kroger in the bakery where she spent many dedicated years and ultimately retired. She enjoyed traveling, trips to the casino to play the slots, a night of Bingo, and never missing a shopping opportunity. She could be difficult at times, she will be remembered for her spirited personality, and she lived life her way.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents; and son John Damon Klawinski in 2000. She is survived by her loving husband; her children: Jason Klawinski (Russell Allen) of Dallas and Jennifer Klawinski Averitt (Derrick) of Hockley; her sister: JoAnne Dierschke (Floyd) of Spring; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

All services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. Friday, August 29, 2025, Visitation from 6:00-9:00 PM. Saturday, August 30, 2025, Funeral Service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by Committal Service from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, and Reception to conclude time with the family.
