

Kathi Weiler passed away suddenly but peacefully early Tuesday morning February 25, 2025 in Katy, TX. Born on July 16, 1949 in Dodge City, Kansas, Kathi lived a beautiful, love filled accomplished life marked by adventure, hard work, and a deep devotion to her family, friends and catholic faith.
Kathi had quite the love for adventure and a deep passion for helping people. Kathi became an RN after attending Marymount College in Salina, Kansas and graduating with a bachelor’s degree in science.
Her hard work and dedication in becoming an RN, BSN paid off when she landed a job in Houston, TX at Methodist Hospital in Houston’s Medical Center. While living in Houston, Kathi met and married the love of her life, William Douglas (Doug) Weiler. Together they shared a passion for adventure, becoming pilots of hot air balloons and even took an unforgettable trip to Africa.
Kathi and Doug started their family and moved to Katy, TX where she took a nursing job at a Pediatrics practice. Kathi retired from Texas Children’s Pediatrics Association leaving a lasting impression in the nursing field and those who worked alongside her.
Kathi is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Doug, her father Norbert Kirmer and mother Marilyn Witskin Kirmer. She is survived by her daughter Marilyn Elizabeth Weiler Bad Wound. She is also survived by her siblings; Joe Kirmer, Karol Ferrell, Phil Kirmer, and Thad Kirmer.
She was a very proud Grandma (Gam Gam) to Aiden Liversidge, Hunter Lambert, and Isabelle Bad Wound.
Those who knew Kathi will remember her generous, compassionate adventurous spirit, her sharp mind, loving heart, playful personality and dedication to her family and friends. Her legacy will live on in stories told around good food, dominoes, card games, the wisdom she passed down and her love of watching sports, passion for cooking, hosting celebrations and her travels to Europe with her husband and daughter.
Most of all, she cherished being a mother and Gam Gam, loving all and making everyone feel special. She will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025 from 5:00- 8:00 pm, with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Memorial Mass will be held at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church located at 1530 Norwalk Dr, Katy, TX 77450 on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 11:00 am with a committal service to follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX at 1:00 pm.
