

Kathy Lynn Smallwood, 57, born August 23, 1957 in Houston, TX at St. Joseph Hospital was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 28, 2014. Kathy graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School and later graduated from Nursing School and went on to Southeast Memorial Hospital in Houston to be a nurse in the OBGYN Unit. She also went to Belfort Clinic as a nurse for Dr. Falgout in Pediatrics. Kathy was sent a letter requesting her to be a member of the Medical Board in Washington, DC. She loved to country dance, loved her country music, she was in the movie Urban Cowboy with John Travolta. Kathy was a devoted daughter to her precious mother, as well as her brothers, sisters and everyone she knew. She was kind, giving, the caregiver of the family; she was the most loving person ever. Kathy is preceded in death by her father, Bomar Smallwood and mother, Ollie Mae Smallwood. Left to cherish her memories: brothers: Billy Smallwood and James Smallwood; sisters: Bernice Konarik and Linda Liles; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, friends and one cuddle bear, AAsher Liles. Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 3rd from 1-2pm with a Memorial Service to follow at 2pm in the Family Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home. Kathy is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee in her honor. A Reception will follow in Brookside Funeral Home’s Reception Room.
