Jeannie was born on September 25, 1940, in Corpus Christi, TX to Charley Joe and Rev. Berenice Ritchey. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and Memaw, and above all, a woman of unwavering faith. She loved the Lord with all her heart and lived her life as a faithful servant, caring deeply for her family, her church, and those around her.
Throughout her life, Jeannie gave of herself generously. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she faithfully served her church in many capacities throughout the years, including Women’s Ministry Director for the South Texas Assemblies of God, Missionette Coordinator, supported a Christian addiction family center, started a clothing and food pantry at church, served as church treasurer, and opened her home to anyone that needed a place to stay. Her professional life reflected that same dedication and work ethic. She worked for H&R Block, managed a doctor’s office, and concluded her career as a certified medical coder.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jo Ann Brasher; and the love of her life, her beloved husband, Fred.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Teri Pruett, Denise Pierle and husband Tom, Jay Pruett, and Lisa Pruett; her grandsons Andy, Pruett, and Murphy Pierle; granddaughter Kelly Pyle and husband Richard; as well as numerous family and friends.
Yet no list of positions held, responsibilities fulfilled, or accomplishments achieved could ever adequately describe the woman that was Jeannie. She was the heart of her family. Her greatest legacy can be found in the faith she lived, the people she loved, and the family she helped shape. Her love, strength, devotion, and example will live on through her children, grandchildren, extended family, and all those whose lives she touched.
We find comfort in knowing the faith Jeannie carried throughout her life has now brought her home to the Lord she loved and faithfully served. Her heavenly family welcomes her into their loving arms.
“Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed”. Proverbs 31: 25, 26, 28
