

Keith Wayne Gear October 12, 1962 - July 27, 2016. Keith, 53 passed suddenly on July 27, 2016 in Houston, Texas. He was born on October 12, 1962. A proud Texan, and Native Houstonian, he was preceded by his Grandparents: Oscar & Lillian Gear and Lloyd & Rosemary Clomburg, Father: Ronald (Ronnie) Gear, and Brother: Randall (Randy) Gear. Keith was survived by wife: Valerie Gear, and their daughter: Sarah Gear & her boyfriend, Eddie Carranza. Mother: Barbara Gear. Brother: Bruce Gear and his wife Suzanne Gear. Father-in-Law & Mother-in-Law: Theodore Hiesser, Jr. & Evelyn Hiesser. Niece/Nephews: Robert Tripp, Dillon Gear, Mason Gear, Timothy Emerson, Daniel Emerson & Rachel Emerson. Sisters-in-Law: Debbie Tripp and Sandra Emerson & her husband, Matt Emerson. Keith will also be missed by countless friends, fishing partners, fellow cooks and business associates.
Keith graduated from Spring High School in 1980, and then attended several semesters at his local community college. He spent the majority of his career in the air freight industry, beginning by loading pallets and driving and then moving on to management, sales, and air export consolidations. He finished his career as a transportation dispatcher.
Keith was an avid fisherman, who enjoyed spending his free time fishing with family and friends or participating in fishing tournaments. He also used to take a yearly fishing trip with his wife, daughter, and parents to the family beach house. Some of his favorite fishing spots were at Port O'Connor and Smith Point, Texas. Keith also enjoyed cooking and barbecuing. Not only was he his family's personal chef, he also spent a lot of time cooking with his barbecue team, where his award winning chicken often placed. He was also known for his delicious gumbo, chili, & potato soup.
Keith's memorial service will be held at Brookside Funeral Home (13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039) on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 2:00pm.
