I remember my first year employed at UTPD I would hear him on the radio because he had a very distinct voice like a broadcaster. He was always professional with radio traffic and with answering the phone for non-emergency calls.  One day I ran into Mr. Ard entering into the HQs building and I gave him some ICY HOTT ADVANCE for his leg. I am a firm believer in showing kindness to everyone it's just "southern hospitality". Thank you for your kindness, and service to UTPD managing the daily activities of the dispatch room.  May God bless the Ard family in their time of grieving. Amen

My condolences to the family. We were colleagues for many years, but your sincere concern during a difficult time in my life made us friends. You were always tickled because, as you stated, no matter what.  I always had a comeback. Well, my friend, I can honestly say I'm at a loss for words. Rest in paradise.

I’m saddened to even be writing this at this time.  I met Ard back when I started working for UTPD in December 2021.  Over the course of these few years we were cool.  You don’t always have some form of bond with people you work with outside of work yet we did.  We always checked on each other.  Ard was like a big brother to me he use to always say little sis I got you and in certain situations always help me see reason and the bright side of things going on.  One thing and it may seem small to others but I will miss how me and him would race home after work lol.  We lives in the same direction but I can always remember him telling me the next day Kam you be driving fast.  I was trying to catch you but you was outta there lol.  We talked about football all the time which saddens me because I was just literally talking to him recently about football and didn’t think the next time would be this.  My heart is saddened but I know God has a plan and a reason.  

To Monique I’m sending all the love and prayers, comfort, and strength through me and Ard conversations he adored you and I always wanted to make sure that you and him were good.  Also to all the family and friends my prayers are with you always.  Let’s continue to carry him with us and cherish the good times.

Kelvin Ard was a man who was more than just a name to me. He was a beacon of hope, pillar of strength, a companion in joy and sorrow, and above all, he was FAMILY. Losing him has created a void in my heart that can’t be filled. 
Ard and I worked with each other for 8 years, and even though I may not have known him a very long time, he had a great impact on my life. I remember many times when he would get up from his work station to go to the printer or kitchen area, I’d tell him to get my things from the fridge, he’d say “Come on man, why do you wait for me to get up”. I’d laugh and tell him “You’re closer to the fridge”, regardless if he wasn’t. He’d always tell me I needed the walking and we’d laugh about it together. 
He was a very punctual person. He followed the clock instinctively. He took his breaks and lunch on time every day. He called his lovely wife Monique on scheduled times too. Maybe he picked this up from the military, but I loved this about him. For about two months he gave me a ride to work while our vehicle was in the shop and would remind me to not make him late cause he was on a schedule. 
Monique, I’m so very sorry for your loss. He was a wonderful person and loving husband to you. He would me all the time how much love he had for you. I’m going to miss my conversations with you and him hollering in the background while we talked. 
Ard, no matter how many friends I have, how much I talk to them, or how much time I spend with them, always remember that no one can replace you. You were, are, and will always be irreplaceable. You will always have a special place in my heart. 
Let us all remember the laughter, love, and joy that he brought into our lives. May his memory continue to inspire and uplift us aa we navigate this world without him. I will forever cherish our moments together. Thank you Ard for your service and thank you for our special friendship. May you rest in peace with our heavenly Lord. I was deeply saddened to hear about Ard's passing. He was my coworker from 2008 to 2017, and during that time, he brought so much positivity and laughter to our workplace. His infectious spirit could brighten even the toughest days, and he had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued and appreciated. I’ll always remember his kindness, the way he went out of his way to support others, and the genuine interest he took in our lives. Ard truly made a difference in our team, and his warmth and generosity will be missed by all who knew him. My thoughts are with everyone who loved him during this difficult time. He will never be forgotten.

I thank God for the times we had together . I am truly going to miss you. I will neverforget the time when you would turn on the music and  you start rapping and singing. You will always have a space in heart. It seems so unreal but only God knows when.our time on earth will end. Love, love you.

My sincerest condolences to the entire Ard family. My heart is truly saddened by the passing of my friend and brother Kelvin Ard. I understand what it is like to lose a loved one. I encourage the family to remember the good times and hold on to precious memories.  May you lean, depend on and trust God for comfort and strength during this difficult time. Matthew 5:4 says, “Blessed are those who morn, for they will be comforted”.  Ard and I worked together for many, many years. Back in the day we were the crew; me, Paula Little, Julie Jackson, LaDonna Little – Johnson! Like family, we had a blast together but, we also fussed and argued.  However, at the end of the day you could find us laughing, telling jokes, eating our favorite foods, and encouraging one another when times were tough. Over the years I adopted a few nicknames given by them such as “Donia” or “Greedy-Mo-De”, lol! My last words to Ard in the hospital were “Donia’s here, keep fighting. I love you my friend”.

           May you rest in peace my friend, you will be missed.

I am still in disbelief about Ard's passing. Having worked with him for over 20 years, I remember when the late great Lt. Campbell asked me to train the incoming PSOs, and Kelvin Ard was among them. From that very first day, he was a shining light. His smile could brighten any room, and his presence radiated class and warmth. I never imagined that day would lead to such a profound connection. Shortly after, I was promoted to Dispatch, and Ard soon followed. It quickly became clear that he was a perfect fit for our team. We developed an incredible bond, becoming not just coworkers but friends and family. We could share anything, laugh together, and would always take the time to count our blessings. Ard was truly loved by many and will be deeply missed. I am grateful for the time I had with him and the memories we created. Though it’s hard to accept, I find comfort in knowing that he is free of this world.  Now absent from the body but present with the Lord—2 Corinthians 5:8. Until we meet again, Ardie, my friend; may you receive your crown. ❤️

My heart felt condolences to the Ard family.  I worked with Kelvin at the police department for more than 20 years.  A quiet man, I would often tease him about working in the dispatch room as the only man. He would laugh and say " I got this". He was always pleasant, and professional. I was sadden to hear about his passing, may God have mercy on his soul, and provide strength to his family.

This was a hard one for me and unbelievable when I received the news about Ard.  I worked with him at UT Police for years until my retirement in 2015.  I also became one of his Supervisor's in our Dispatch  Department. He was so full of fun and laughter. We were also NFL riveralry,  he was a Cowboys fan and me a Philadelphia Eagles fan.  At the beginning of every year, he would say to me, "Little we going to the Superbowl ," my response was, "wishful thinking.  To Monique and the entire family lean  on God for strength and comfort in your time of sorrow and sadness.

My heart is heavy, but my memories of Ard are everlasting.  I was one of Ard's supervisor's and I enjoyed giving him a hard time as much as he loved giving me one.  I will miss him texting to check on his crew and his jokes about coming in during bad weather, even though he was retired.  He loved his work family, but it was no comparison to how much he loved, adored, and cherished his wife, son, and grandbaby.  And let's not forget Valentino.  He absolutely glowed when he spoke of them.  Ard, thank you for your life and your service.

Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal. I pray God comfort you and give you and your family the strength and peace that surpasses all understanding.  

I met Kelvin April 2012 when I joined the UTPD Dispatch team. On December 31, 2023 we retired together. 
We shared stories of what we were going to do when we retired and Kelvin was excited because he was going to be home full time.
He said that he would be able to spend time with Monique and Valentino and of course on Sunday he would watch his favorite team or as he would say (America's) favorite team the Dallas Cowboys. 
Then on Thursday morning, October 10, 2024, I received the call that God called you home. 
Ard, take your rest my friend and colleague until we meet again on the other side.
