He was born in Houston on October 18, 1938, to Wiley and Moselle Colson. Kenneth proudly served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
Kenneth was married to the love of his life, Janie Laverne Colson, for 62 wonderful years. He retired from Southwest Distributing and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church until declining health prevented him from attending services.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Buddy Colson; and his beloved wife, Janie.
He is survived by his sons, Ken Colson and wife, Jo Ann, and Jeff Colson and wife, Mary Jane. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kyle Colson and wife, Lori; Kevin Colson and partner, Cassandra Niles; and Kaitlyn Rhodes and husband, Matt. Kenneth was blessed with four great-grandchildren, with one additional great-grandchild expected in September.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Colson, Kevin Colson, Matt Rhodes, Garry Currie, and Craig Currie.
All services will be held on May 22, 2026 at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. Visitation from 9:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service from 10:00 am and Committal Service in Brookside Memorial Park.
