

Kenneth Wayne Daugherty Jr., beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, transcended peacefully into eternal rest on January 5, 2025, at the age of 66. He was born on April 3, 1958, in Houston, Texas, Kenneth grew up in Kennedale, Texas, and graduated from Mansfield High School in 1976.
During his high school years, Kenneth was a star football player at Mansfield High, excelling as a fullback and helping the Tigers achieve multiple victories and championships. Kenneth was also an avid martial artist, studying Taekwondo under Legendary Instructor Rudy Schmedly and earning his brown belt alongside his friend, world champion kickboxer Troy Dorsey.
In 1980, Kenneth married Pamela [Reasor] Daugherty-Casillas. Ken and Pam met in 1979 in Wichita Falls, Tx. Together Ken and Pam raised their 3 beautiful children outside of Tulsa, Ok. After their divorce in 1999, Kenneth moved back to Houston, Tx and met his current spouse Tamara Pope on March 3, 2001. The two shared a loving relationship for 24 years until his transition into the next life.
Kenneth was a devoted father to his three children: Kenneth Wayne Daugherty III, Brandon Miles Daugherty, and Ashley Tra' Daugherty. He cherished his role as a father, always offering guidance, love, and unwavering support.
Kenneth began his career and passion for hanging luxury wallcoverings in 1976. He worked in Many cities throughout his career including DFW, Houston, Wichita Falls, and Tulsa, OK. He had the privilege of working in many high-end homes of celebrities, musicians, actors, and professional athletes, as well as in prestigious department stores and elite-class hotels. He worked with some of the world's Top Designers to the likes of Charles Faundree as well as many others. Kenneth was truly a master of his craft. A proud member of the Wallcovering Installers Association, he especially enjoyed meeting with his Texas chapter members. His son Brandon, who has worked alongside him since childhood, will now take over the reins of his cherished company, Talking Walls Wallpaper Installation.
In his spare time, Kenneth could often be found tinkering with and restoring his ATVs and dirt bikes. He also loved Jesus, fishing, camping, and boating. Twice each year, he joined his close friends Chris and Don for the Wallcovering Installers Association fishing trips— even though, Chris always claimed the trophy for the biggest catch. It was more of a time to enjoy being together as friends than the trip being a competition. Though, Ken always loved a good Competition.
Kenneth will be remembered for his kind spirit, warm smile, and the love he generously shared with family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his sister Ronda Tra' Williamson, his grandfather Cranston Drake “Blondie” Daugherty, and his mother Linda Faye Coats.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tamara Izumikawa Pope; his father, Kenneth Wayne Daugherty Sr.;His Step-Mother, Joyce Daugherty; his brother, Charles Ralph Daugherty; His Brother, Thomas Daugherty; his sister, Mellanie Renee' Mattern; his children, Kenneth Wayne Daugherty III, Brandon Miles Daugherty, and Ashley Tra' Daugherty; his granddaughter, Natasha Coleigh Daugherty; his grandson, Jacob Douglas Comstock; His Step Children; Mitsziko Grace Mote; Melea Rachael Bonnaso; Michalla Marie Mechler; and Michael Jeremiah Mechler; and 11 More Grandchildren from his step children; And a family friend whom he looked at like a Son; Nicolas Shane Poole; Nicks Daughter; Emalynn Grayce Pool as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Kenneth's honor.
Kenneth will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace and walk proudly on golden paths, his spirit forever shining bright.
A celebration of Kenneth's life will be held on January 18 at 2 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home & Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of this remarkable man who touched so many lives.
