Early on the morning of September 3, 2016 about 4:15 a.m. we said our last "I love you" to one of the most influential men in our lives. Absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Our dad was a minister for over 70 years and a chaplain at Multi-family Ministries Retirement Home. He left a wonderful legacy for his children. He was faithful and driven, a man with great energy who worked until he was 88-89 years old. He would have been 95 on September 26,2016.
He was a deacon at Second Baptist Church (Woodway at Voss) and a Sunday School teacher of the Good Shepherd Class for many years. He loved Dr. Young and enjoyed playing golf with him on occasions. Pop enjoyed life and was busy every day morning till night, but loved serving the Lord above anything he ever did in life.
Our dad worked in the oil industry and he was a wonderful father, husband and loyal friend. We will miss him, his dry humor and his absolute devotion to the University of Alabama (Roll Tide) football.
We love you, Dad. You fought a good fight, you set the standard high for your children.
Till we meet again,
Karla, Jim, and Ken
