Kenneth R. Martin Sr.

Kenneth graduated from MB Smiley in 1965 and received an Associate's Degree from the University of Houston. He met Linda (Hair) Martin in Houston, Texas and was married to her on June 29, 1967. Kenneth worked for the Houston fire department for 34 years, 16 of which he was District Chief before his retirement. Kenneth was a Navy Vet, as well as a member of the Park Place Masonic Lodge No. 1172 A.F. & A.M. and had a passion for golfing, hunting, and trips to the casino.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his father, Chester Lee Martin; his mother, Florine Huff, and his brothers Mitchell Martin and Bobby Martin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda K. Martin; daughters, Stefanie Green and son-in-law Darrell Green, Tammy Cheatham and son-in-law Shane Cheatham; son, Kenneth Martin Jr. and daughter-in-law Kristin Martin, his sister-in-law Brenda Russom, his brother-in-law Al Russom; grandchildren, Ashley May and her spouse Kelly May, Justin Green and his spouse Ashly Green, Kaylynn White and her spouse Zhane Burkhart, Michael Cheatham, Garett Martin, Landon Martin, and Gatlin Martin; great-grandchildren Cayson May, Kohen May, Baylee Green, and Waylon Green as well as a host of other family and friends.

Kenneth's visitation will be held on Monday, November 4th, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial is scheduled to take place at Brookside Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers are Kenneth Martin Jr., Darrell Green, Justin Green, Garett Martin, Landon Martin, and Michael Cheatham. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Al Russom, Kelly May, Eric Russom, and Steven Russom.
