Kenneth Eugene McAllister, 80, of Houston, Texas, passed away on April 26, 2026. Born January 29, 1946, Kenneth lived a life marked by steady devotion to family, faithful service to country, and a quiet selflessness that showed most clearly in the way he consistently put responsibilities and loved ones before himself.
In his early years, Kenneth found purpose and direction through Boy Scouts, earning the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout—an achievement that reflected the loyalty and commitment that would remain hallmarks throughout his life. He also played clarinet in his high school band, and later attended the University of Arkansas at Monticello, continuing a path shaped by discipline, learning, and perseverance.
Kenneth served in the Airforce from June 1969 to April 1973. After his military service, he worked at the Goodyear Chemical Plant in Logistics for the majority of his career, a role that suited his dependable nature and strong sense of duty. He continued working until he became ill in 2002, meeting life’s challenges with resolve and steadfastness.
Kenneth was married to Darlene McAllister for 23 years (1979–2002). Together they raised two sons, Mathew and Jeremy, and Kenneth’s loyalty and devotion were evident in the constancy with which he cared for and stood by his family.
Outside of work and service, Kenneth valued the simple, lasting joys of time outdoors and quiet reflection. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he also found comfort in reading and classical music—interests that reflected a life grounded in patience, thoughtfulness, and enduring appreciation for what is steady and true.
The family extends sincere gratitude to Home Sweet Home assisted living facility, and to Mrs Diane Hunt and Mr Willie Hunt for continuous support and assistance with Kenneth’s affairs. Their care and kindness are remembered with deep respect.
