

Kenneth Ray Vandever Sr., was born on February 14, 1944 in Houston, Texas to Floyd (Monk) and Annie Ruth Vandever. The Lord called him home on September 14, 2012. Kenneth lived a full life. At the age of 17 he enlisted in the Army. On September 8, 1962 he married the love of his life Linda Banuelos. Kenneth worked at Nabisco for 24 years in the millwright shop. Once retired he devoted his time enjoying life to the fullest. He enjoyed fishing with his sons and grandkids, woodworking, watching or should we say “Screaming” at the Texans games and going to the Skeeters baseball games. He loved working in his garden.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, of 50 years, Linda Vandever, his sons Kenneth Ray Vandever Jr. and wife Cindy and Keith Russell Vandever, 3 grandchildren, Brittany Miller and husband Brandon, Amanda Vandever Hill and husband Damian, Kenneth Russell Vandever and fiancée Elizabeth, and great-grandchildren Connor, Peyton, Kynadee, Mariah, Devon, Gracelynn and Paige.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law George Banuelos, grandson Brandon Vandever, sister Betty Salvato and brother Harold Vandever and his cats, Miss Kitty and Prissy. Pallbears are: Kenneth Ray Vandever Jr, Keith Vandever, Kenneth Russell Vandever, Brandon Miller, Todd Breeding, Andy Mendez. A visitation will begin at 1pm and the funeral service to start at 2 pm.on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 in the chapel at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home. Officiating the services will be Pastor David Pryor and Barbara Jacobs will read for the family. Interment will follow in Forest Park Westheimer cemetery.
