Kevin Earl Pool Jr. was born February 10, 1998 at Park Plaza Hospital in Houston, Tx. He was the 4th child born to Catreena Pool and the first of the union between Kevin Sr. and Catreena. Kevin lived in C.E. King Parkway Forest for most of his life. He attended C.E. King High School where he played basketball. He was well known in the neighborhood. He was affectionately called Junior or KP.
Kevin was a great joy to be around. He was always cheerful and kept a grin on his face. People close to him can attest that you’d never see him upset and if he was having a bad day it didn’t show. He was such a quiet young man and often times would laugh between words when speaking to you. Kevin found happiness in spending time with his family. In fact, even at his age he still enjoyed lying in bed with his mother. He was close to all his brothers and his only sister, Chelsea. He was a protector for his family. He always checked on their well being with a simple “you good?” and never left the house without saying “I love you.” Kevin loved to sing and would often times play around with his mother singing “Something About the Name Jesus.” Kevin also enjoyed video games. He and his brothers bonded by watching one another play in the living room and when they couldn’t do that, they played online together. Kevin loved food and was far from being a picky eater. He stayed asking “where the snacks at?” or “what you got to eat?” You better believe if you had just come back from a restaurant, he wanted a doggy bag. Kevin was simple and easy going. He was always very grateful of anything you gave him. He didn’t care about being flashy, he just wanted to look good. His mother described him as being “different.” He wasn’t confrontational and was the least likely to talk back. He was very mild mannered.
Kevin was preceded in death his grandparents Debra Pool Bell and Tyree Bell II.
Kevin is survived by his parents Catreena Pool and Kevin Pool Sr.; his grandparents Catherine Roberson and Calvin Roberson; his sister Chelsea Roberson (Takeem); his brothers Cary Roberson (Elena), Cory Roberson, Kevon Pool (Tia), Kenneth Pool and Kevin Vincent (Kim); his aunts Catina Roberson (Howard), Tasha Bell, and Rome Bell; his uncles Thaddeus Pool and Tyree Bell III; his cousins Catricia Roberson (Frank), Chacoria Roberson, and Christopher Bradford (Crystal); and his nephews Jasper Flanagan Roberson and Maddox Flanagan Roberson. Aside from his immediate family, he also leaves behind his girlfriend D’Anna Avant, his honorary brother Joshua Garner, childhood friend Isiah Abraham, and a host of friends and family whom all loved him dearly.
