Born August 20th, 1958 in Houston, Texas to Carlon “Eleanora” and Byron Sullivan. Kim and her beloved little sister, Kari Floyd were raised in Deer Park, Texas by their devoted grandparents W.Gaye and Vester Henry. After graduating La Porte high school, she attended Southwest Texas State University to major in fashion merchandising. While attending college in San Marcos she met the love of her life, John Saxon. Kim and John fell in love so quickly they were married within a year of being set up on a blind date.
Kim and John moved to Houston, TX and were married in 1980 and could not wait to start a family of their own and had two children, Dustin and Ashley. The birth of their children gave John and Kim the drive to start their own business, Saxon Fleet Services, Inc. Kim was instrumental in building the business from the ground up, standing aside her husband and business partner. As a career, she was not only the Treasurer for Saxon Fleet Services, Inc. she was so much more, handling “behind the scenes” work that needed to be done. Kim was able to work from home and still found the time to be a devoted mother to her two children. She loved her children fiercely and it was her life’s mission to support them, by making them her priority, even into adulthood.
As her children began growing up and being busy middle and high schoolers, she wanted to have a place to get away and spend time together as a family. In January 1997 they purchased a bay house on the west end of Galveston in Terramar Beach. So many happy memories were made here. Kim loved walking the beach, finding shark teeth and seashells. There was endless golf cart cruising, sunset boat rides and get togethers with family and friends. She was so lucky to meet neighbors that became close friends and then became her “Beach Family.” Kim was a loyal and caring friend, that loved her friends deeply.
In 2007, Kim stepped into her favorite role as Honey at the birth of her first grandchild. She is a Honey to six grandchildren; Gwen Saxon, Jack Fogleman, Nora Saxon, Case Fogleman, Hank Saxon and Ty Fogleman. Kim enjoyed attending Houston Astros games, Texans games and traveling the country and Caribbean with her husband and friends. She loved animals, especially her dogs, Lula and Buster.
Our wife, momma, sister, honey and friend will be greatly missed.
