Kitty Roberts of Bastrop, TX, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, died peacefully in Austin on July 24, 2011. She was born on September 13, 1923, in Haynesville, Claiborne Parish, Louisiana, to Jesse Carlton and Eva Hand Wells. She grew up in Shreveport, LA, where she graduated from Byrd High School, and on April 11, 1941, married her high school sweetheart, Thad Roberts, Jr., who preceded her in death in 1987. Kitty lived a full and rich life, raising her children and working alongside her husband in the ministry of church music, culminating in 32 years of service at South Main Baptist Church in Houston. She is survived by children, Cindy Bragg of Bastrop, and husband David; Sybi Ward of Austin, and husband Ron; Tal Roberts of Dallas, and wife Nancy; grandchildren, Chloe Brevelle and husband, Craig; Amy Ward-Meier and husband, Ed; Aaron Ward; Jennifer Armayor and husband, Travis; and Rebecca Montgomery and husband, Jeff; and great-grandchildren Daniel and Greyson Brevelle; Penelope and Nolan Meier; Tal, Margot, Clara and Leah Armayor; and Lewis, Sam and Lucy Montgomery.
