Kory Jay Holmes

Kory was born June 12, 1961, in Abilene Texas to Gilda Holmes and Wendell Holmes. Kory attended High

School in Perryton, Texas. He graduated in 1979. He continued his education at West Texas State University and graduated in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology. Kory went to work for Core Laboratories from 1990 to 2023 as a Technical Director.

Kory had a big heart and always wanted to help other people. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend to all whose lives he touched. He enjoyed spending time at the house in Lake Sommerville, Texas, riding his motorcycles, and spending time with friends and family.

Kory is survived by his wife and best friend, Holly Holmes (Married November 24, 1995), a daughter Hanah Lowry, Rob Lowry Husband of Houston, and grandchildren Kaidyn Lowry and Luke Lowry. Two brothers, Gary Holmes of Austin and Randy Holmes of Odessa, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Stacy Holmes, and a son, Calvin Langolf. Services were held in Houston, TX. Donations can be made to your favorite charity.

Kory will be greatly missed & forever remembered.
