Kyle was born on December 18, 1969 in Houston, Texas, where he was a life-long resident. He attended Aldine High School, where he was in the distributive education program and worked for Ainsworth Quality Meat Market after school. There he became a skilled butcher and later went on to own the business. After selling the company, he entered the health and life insurance industries, where he found success, earning numerous awards for personal production. After 20 years as a licensed insurance agent, he started a roofing and construction company, where he spent the rest of his career.
Kyle loved to laugh, have fun and especially cherished spending time with family and friends. An avid outdoorsman, Kyle enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing in his free time. He will be remembered for his big heart, wonderful sense of humor, and fun-loving personality. Above all, Kyle was a loving son, devoted father and husband, and compassionate friend who will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Denise Thompson; his two sons, Dylan Kyle Thompson and Ryan Blake Thompson, their mother Julie Thompson Braun; his mother Linda Lindsey and her husband Michael; his father Eugene “Jabo” Thompson and his wife Torchy; his sisters Arissa Lindsey, Mindy Coomer and her husband Buddy; his Aunt Diana “DeDe” Cones and her husband Kenneth; his Uncles Ron Appelt and Dennis Appelt and his wife Brenda; plus many more family members and friends whose lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 11, from 2:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. with a reception to follow, at the Brookside Cypress Creek Funeral Home, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, TX 77095. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude or the charity of your choice.
