Laila Kamel Mina, 85, passed away on April 6, 2026. Born on November 25, 1940, in Alexandria, Egypt, Laila was beloved, generous, faithful, compassionate, devoted, and cherished by all who had the blessing of knowing her.
Laila raised in Alexandria, Egypt, where she also earned her Bachelor’s of Business Administration. Her life was marked by steady dedication and quiet strength, grounded in faith and expressed through constant care for others.
For 25 years, Laila worked at MD Anderson Hospital in the international patient accounts department. Her work reflected the same devoted and compassionate spirit that defined her life—reliable, service-minded, and attentive to the needs of people navigating difficult moments.
Laila was married to the late Samir Mina for 54 years. Together they built a family rooted in love and faith. She is survived by her two daughters, Mariam Mina and Lillian Agban, son in law George Agban and her two grandsons, Jonathan and David.
A faithful and devoted Christian, Laila loved the church deeply. She enjoyed cooking and baking, and she generously shared these gifts in service—helping with the Egyptian Festival and baking for Pope visits. She was also known for her compassionate presence within the church community: visiting the sick and faithfully attending weddings and funerals of fellow church members.
Laila’s legacy is one of warmth and joy. She was loving and caring, and she loved to laugh and help people. She had a way of lighting up the room when she walked in, leaving others comforted, encouraged, and seen.
