

Lana Anderson Zoerb passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2017. Born on the 17th of November 1932 in Winslow, Arkansas, she was the older daughter of Roy Anderson and Liliah Miller Anderson. Lana, her parents and her younger sister Sherrana relocated to Southern California (Long Beach) where her father worked as a college professor teaching art. In the mid-1950s while working as a Draftsman for Shell Oil Company in Midland, Texas, Lana met and married a young Geologist named Richard (Dick) Zoerb. They embarked on a life together that would be full of travel, great experiences and the joy of family. Her greatest happiness was being a mother to her three children, Eric, Stephen and Karin. She was an amazing mother who was nurturing, loving and kind.
Lana loved the Lord, our Savior Jesus Christ. As an early member and leader at St. Thomas’ Episcopal and later an active member of St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston, she took great joy in the music, liturgy, Sunday school and many activities of her church life. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 30 years and her dear son Stephen Anderson Zoerb. Lana is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Sherrana and Ronald Abderhalden of Wichita, Kansas and their children, and her daughter, Karin Zoerb Thornton and husband, Paul, and son, Eric Morgan Zoerb and wife Sarah. Lana also leaves behind six adoring grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at two o’clock on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road in Houston followed by a reception. In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, The Wayside Chapel, 717 Sage Road, Houston, Texas 77056, or the charity of your choice.
