Lanelle Rose Hudson

Lanelle Rose Hudson went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2026, in Cypress, Texas, at the age of 88. Lanelle was born in Moulton, Texas, to Albert F. Schumann and Amelia Schumann. At the age of 18, she moved to Houston to attend business college and later began working in the oil industry in accounting and office positions.

Lanelle met Earl Douglas Hudson Jr., and the two were married in Richmond, Texas, in 1958. Together, they had five daughters.

At the age of 55, Lanelle returned to her hometown of Moulton, where she began working at the local nursing home. She remained there for 25 years, retiring at the age of 80.

Lanelle’s faith was an important part of her life. She loved the Lord and carried her faith with her throughout her life, finding comfort and strength in Him through every season. Her faith was reflected in the love and kindness she showed to her family and those around her. She believed in the promise of eternal life, and her family finds comfort knowing that she is now at peace and in the presence of the Lord.

Family was the center of Lanelle’s life. She loved her five daughters dearly, and they were not only her daughters but also her best friends. She cherished her growing family and the many generations that followed.

Lanelle enjoyed playing bingo, reading books, working puzzles, playing Scrabble, going to the casino with her friends, and her yearly vacation to Rodanthe, North Carolina.

Lanelle is survived by her five daughters, Donna, Denise, Diane, Deidree, and Leslie; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Lanelle was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Douglas Hudson Jr.; her parents, Albert F. Schumann and Amelia Schumann; her sister, Jeannette Pavlas; her brother, Louis H. Schumann; and her grandson, Anthony Magee Jr.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Brookside Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service honoring Lanelle’s life at 11:00 a.m.

Lanelle was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. Her memory, her faith, and the love she shared will live on through the many generations of her family.
