He graduated from Jefferson Davis High School and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston. He played baseball for U of H on a scholarship. Larry was later drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates – single A right before he was drafted into the Army. He served his country as a soldier in the U.S Army where he was stationed during his tour in Korea.
He owned Howell Pest Control Center for 20 years and was a member of the Circle H. Larry loved his sports. His favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys, the Houston Rockets and the Houston Astros.
Larry met the love of his life Gladys in Houston, Texas and they wed on September 25, 1975. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by parents James E. and Ellen, grandson Logan Evan Perkins. Larry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gladys, children Charlotte and husband Joel, Pam and husband Gary, Keith and wife Elizabeth, Robert and wife Christy, daughter Samantha and husband Chris, 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and his dear cousin Jerry Nedbalek.

The family will receive friends for visitation, Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 9:30AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway Houston, Texas 77039 with a funeral service to follow at 10:00AM. The Burial will take place at Brookside Memorial Park at 11:00AM.
