Laura Marie Bishop

Laura attended Humble High School, and in her graduating year of 1986, she married the love of her life Billy Ray Bishop – a 40-year union, celebrated next month. This union brought a cherished son, Ryan Evan Bishop.

Laura built her career at Wells Fargo for over 30 years and retired 14 months ago. In her retirement, “Nana” adored being a grandmother to her beloved grandchild, Sidney “Peak” Lyon Bishop.

Laura’s most sacred part of life was her family. She lovingly cared for everyone as a giving, humble, affectionate, funny and wise woman. As most of you know, this care was not limited to humans as she was an avid animal lover as well. Her legacy is love.

Laura is preceded in death by her mother, Ada Marie Brown-Garner, her father, Lewis Pinkston Garner, father-in-law, Bobby Hugh Bishop, mother-in-law, Nina Brannen-Bishop, and sister-in-law, Kathryn Grace Bishop Benavides. Dog Lucy and cat Pharoah.

She is survived by her treasured husband, Billy Ray Bishop, her son, Ryan Evan Bishop, wife Jasmine Symone Lyons and their son, Sidney Lyon Bishop. As well as her dad, Rodney Goss, her mom Margaret Massengale-Cooper, aunts, LaVedia Garner Zachary, Linda Massengale-Merrell, and Uncle Joe Massengale, and cat Bengal.

Her mother by heart is Linda Gayle Lee, and daughter by heart is Teonna Daniels-Smith.

Surviving siblings include Jimmy Garner and wife Angel Garner, Brandon Chamberlain, Amanda Goss-Herring and husband Bobby Herring, and Hamilton Goss.

She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Terry Lynn Bishop-Truxal and Bobbie Jean Finch-Rutland. Her nieces and nephews Aaron Finch and Maggie Finch, Cameron Truxal, Austin Garner, Nate Garner, Teonna Daniels-Smith and husband Chase Smith, Nicholas Herring, Triston Herring, Tyce Herring, Markus Goss, Charlee Goss and Melanie Lopez Herring. As well as countless cousins and extended family.
