1951-2017
Laura Ann Hall Rogers, 66, flew away with the angels on August 6, 2017 surrounded by her loving family after a long struggle with COPD. She was born July 23, 1951 in Waco, Texas and was adopted by Dorothy Goree Hall and Richard Jack Hall. She spent most of her early life in Victoria and Port Lavaca where she graduated from Calhoun Consolidated High School in 1969. Laura earned an associate’s degree in nursing and worked in the medical field in San Antonio and briefly attended Lamar University before meeting her husband.
Laura loved helping the community and her daughters by being a Girl Scout leader for many years. She served on the Board of Directors for the equitation program for the San Jacinto Girl Scout Council and was most proud of her leadership role in the facility’s relocation from Peach Creek to Misty Meadows.
Laura later enjoyed volunteering at Tomagwa HealthCare Ministries in Tomball, Texas where she served as a patient advocate.
Laura was a much beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Lawrence Timothy Rogers, her daughter Andrea Lane Rogers Russell and son-in-law Brandon Russell and daughter Lark Alecia Rogers. Also surviving are her much loved grandchildren Christopher Reid Saathoff and Kaylee Jaina Russell and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service honoring Laura will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. The location is the Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek, 9149 Highway 6 North, Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor can be made to Tomagwa HealthCare Ministries at www.tomagwa.org.
