Lauria Sonoma Davis

Sonoma was a woman of many talents and passions. In her early years, she worked as a beauty operator and embraced her love for glamour. Later, she became a successful businesswoman, owning a real estate company in Bacliff, Texas. Her hobbies were as vibrant as she was—she loved fishing, hunting, gardening, singing, and playing the guitar. Above all, Sonoma cherished her family deeply, creating countless treasured memories with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving family:

• Grandson Damien Bethune and wife Charlene; great-grandchildren Tatum and Ian Bethune

Daughter, Mitzi Almeida

• Grandson Joseph Hymel and wife Jennifer; great-grandson Donovan Hymel

Son, Billy Threadgill, and wife Patricia

• Grandson Billy Threadgill Jr. and wife Melissa; great-grandchildren Haley and Tyler Threadgill, and Logan and Presley Mudd

• Grandson Brandon Threadgill

• Granddaughter Brooke Buhrman and husband Warren; great-granddaughters Alexandria and Analiese Buhrman

• Grandson Christopher Dalton Threadgill

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Lilian Cheney; her siblings Jimmy, Earlene, Norine, Jean, Brenda, Dorothy, Elaine, and Earl Jr.; and her beloved husbands, Billy Davis and Maurice Plunkett.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Perry, Joseph (JD), Billy Jr., Brandon, Damien, and Dalton.

Sonoma’s legacy is one of strength, love, and deep devotion to her family. She will be missed beyond measure and remembered with love.

A visitation for Lauria will be held Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral will occur Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A graveside will occur Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039.
