LaVerne Margaret LaBenz Downer, age 92, passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas, on April 1, 2024.
LaVerne was born on July 3, 1931, in St. Cloud Minnesota, to Harry and Helen LaBenz. She is survived by her husband Dennis Downer, her son Brian Downer, her daughter Stephanie Hayes, four grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
LaVerne dedicated her life to the education of others, especially her Christian faith. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. LaVerne leaves behind a legacy of love for others and a passion for her Lord and Savior. Her grace and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A private family service and interment will be held at a later date.
