

Lawrence spent his youth and graduated from high school in Henning, Minnesota. He then attended and graduated from Concordia Lutheran Seminary in Springfield, Illinois. Rev. Heuchert served as a pastor for over 30 years. He built one of his first churches from the ground up in Delmar, New York and went on to serve parishes in Bayshore, New York, Smithtown, New York, Litchfield, Illinois, Lyons, Kansas, and Lexington, Texas. After retiring, he went to work for Tex-Fab in Cypress, Texas.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Esther Heuchert Meichsner and Lorene Heuchert Cordes; brothers Vernon, Leonard and Charles Heuchert; and granddaughter Kimberly Ann Jatzlau.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn B. Hartland who nursed him through Alzheimer’s disease for many years; daughters Susan Heuchert of Palm Harbor, Florida, Lois Heuchert of Portage, Michigan and Pamela Heuchert Jatzlau of Lexington, Texas; grandchildren Eric Jatzlau of San Marcos, Texas, Jamie Jatzlau of Houston and Emily Jatzlau of Lexington, Texas; stepdaughters Donna Lyon of Houston and Dianne Bialas of Rosenberg, Texas; several step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.
The family offers their thanks and gratitude to Frances Caldwell for her heartfelt care of Lawrence.
A Memorial Service will be Friday, July 18, 2014 at 2:00 PM at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road, Houston, Texas 77056, Rev. Martin J. Bastian officiating.
In lieu of flowers and food, the family requests donations be made in his memory to St. Martin’s Episcopal Church or your favorite charity.
