Larry was born on August 29, 1957, in Houston, Texas to parents, Edward Warren McClinton and Margaret Theresa McClinton. Larry graduated from Spring Woods High School in 1976 where he played varsity football for three years and was offered a scholarship to play in college. He attended college at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. Larry maintained a successful career as an inside salesman within the electrical distribution industry for over thirty years.
Larry and Charlotte were happily married on April 16, 1999 and enjoyed the past seventeen years together residing in Cypress, Texas. Larry had a passion for carpentry, cooking, fishing, and watching football. Most of all, Larry enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, family, and friends. Recently Larry had the opportunity to travel extensively with family.Survivors include his wife, Charlotte McClinton of Cypress, Texas; children, son Jordan McClinton and wife Angela of Katy, Texas, son Sean McClinton and wife Jennifer of Katy, Texas, daughter Megan Ruess and husband Michael of Katy, Texas, step-daughter Amy Finger of Houston, Texas, step-son Matthew Baker of Cypress, Texas, and step-daughter Sarah Baker of Cypress, Texas; mother, Margaret McClinton of Nacogdoches, Texas; siblings, sister Cathy Stanton and husband John of Clarksville, Tennessee, sister Suzy Hall and husband Mark of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, brother Dr. Gary McClinton and Tamara of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Avery McClinton, Kate McClinton, Reese McClinton; and step-grandchildren Olivia Finger and Justine Finger.
Services will be held at Brookside Funeral Home on Saturday, March 25, 2017. Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Following a processional from the Brookside Funeral Home, a graveside service will take place at Katy Magnolia Cemetery.
