

Lawrence was born in New Orleans, LA, on September 6, 1928 the oldest of nine children. He graduated from Loyola University with a bachelor’s degree in science. He served in the Air Force reserve and then served active duty for the Air Force in Okinawa for a year. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who shared his good nature and humor with everyone he knew. He also enjoyed cooking and eating and loved sharing the same. After a long, satisfying career with Chevrolet and General Motors, he retired to continue working at HUB Buick where he worked until the time of his death. In addition to his career, he served as a volunteer for the Fort Bend ARC. He was an active parishioner at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Clarissa, and his sister Doris. He is survived by his cherished wife of 59 years, Betty Jo, his children Cindy, Susan, Larry, and Gary, and his grandchildren Laura and James, and his sister Myra and brothers Melvin, Emmett, Lester, Edgar, Howard, and Pete.
