Leanna “Lee” Bobo Parker, 80, of La Porte, Texas, passed away March 14, 2019.

She was born in Houston, Texas on August 5, 1938 to Esther Schmidt and Jefferson Davis Bobo, Sr., and graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in June 1956.

She was married to Howard Parker in September 1965 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas. Leanna had various accounting positions, but she had a long history as a bookkeeper for the Bank of the Southwest. With her first earnings, she purchased the first TV set the family ever owned, a fact she was always proud of. She was also the bookkeeper for the Neighborhood Association in Trinity, Texas.

Leanna was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas in 1938, and was confirmed at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Houston, Texas in 1954. While living at the Parson’s House Assisted Living, Leanna faithfully attended church services.

Leanna loved to play games, and was a good Texas 42 player. At the Parson’s House Assisted Living, where she lived for 2½ years, she had many friends, and enjoyed winning at bingo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Parker, and her son, Michael Parker.

She is survived by her children, Lynda Sublett (Rick), Jeff Parker, and Russ Parker (Rebecca); her grandchildren, Krystal Boyle (Matthew), Reannon Sublett, Elena Parker, Danya Parker, and Evan Parker; and her brothers and sisters, Jeff Bobo (Marianne), Thomas Bobo (Evelyn), and John Bobo (Betty).

We were next door neighbors for many years and our children grew up together. We shared carpool duties, birthdays, Easter egg hunts and just being neighbors. Leanna was a kind gentle soul who loved her family dearly.
Rest In Peace Leanna

I worked with Lee for many years at Long Point National Bank and Bank One. She was a joy to be around and always good for an unexpected comment. Will always remember those big blue eyes. Rest in peace Lee.
