Lemuel volunteered in the United States Army in 1974. He served his country well and seemingly enjoyed doing it. He traveled all over the country and overseas. He worked as a truck driver for multiple transportation companies to include Mistletoe Express and J.B. Hunt which culminated into traveling to all 50 states of the Unites States of America.
Lemuel was raised on Houston’s Southside. He graduated from the historical, Evan E. Worthing High School, the last predominately black High School in Houston. On April 5th 1985, Lemuel married the “Love of his Life,” JoAnn Ortegon. God blessed them with 35 years of marriage. He enjoyed many things but had a special love for music. His record and CD collection is remarkable. Other hobbies included reading, playing dominoes, chess and entertaining family and friends.
He was called to his heavenly home on Sunday, December 27th 2020. He leaves to cherish precious, precious memories: his loving and devoted wife, JoAnn Tillman, four sons: Jevon, Gabriel, Christon and Effron Tillman, one daughter, Roxie, two daughters-in-law: Queena and Heidy, Mother, Doris Tillman, Siblings: Elmon, Donna, Dale and Kevin, brothers-in-law: Albert, Oscar Jr. and Hector, Jose-Luis, two sisters-in-law: Debi and Diane, eleven grandchildren: Viviyn, Justice, John Jr., Jayden, Mason, Jodeci, Carmela (Sparkle), Noah, Angel, Jordan and Levi, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
