

Lesette Marie Perez, affectionately known as Lisa, aged 58, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at her home in Houston, TX. Lisa was born on July 17, 1967 in San Antonio, TX to her parents Jose Joel Perez and Sylvia Christine Perez. She graduated in 1994 from The University of Texas at San Antonio with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She worked for Baylor College of Medicine for twenty nine years as a senior research coordinator. Lisa was an intelligent, strong, optimistic individual. She was kind, loving, and very giving to those all around her. Lisa was eccentric and loved to collect vintage toys, holiday décor, Houston Astros gear, and all things quirky. Lisa was a big fan of the Houston Astros, and enjoyed many games at the ballpark. When Lisa wasn’t watching baseball, she was spending time with her children and grandchildren in Galveston, TX, soaking up the sun while listening to music and building sand castles on the beach. Lisa was a doting mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending every weekend with her children shopping and having popcorn filled movie nights while cuddled up in bed. She loved to watch sci-fi and horror films and anything strange and unusual. Her favorite holidays were Halloween and Christmas and she knew how to light up the town with her elaborate holiday décor. She made everything around her hauntingly beautiful. Lisa brought joy to many people’s lives and her positive energy was infectious. She was beloved by everyone who knew her and her legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren. Lisa is survived by the love of her life of 44 years, Joe Gonzales; her daughter Daniella Perez (Jason Hayes); her daughter Juliet Perez-Sanchez (Fabian Sanchez); her daughter Ava Perez-Gonzales; her grandsons Jett Hayes, Rocket Hayes, and Ephram Sanchez. Lisa is also survived by her brother Nicholas Perez (Shannon Perez) and her niece Jasmine Medel (Jeremy Morris). She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Sylvia Perez.
A memorial service is scheduled from 12:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025 in the Grand Chapel of Garden Oaks Funeral Home, located at 13430 Bellaire Blvd., Houston TX 77083
