Leslie Abercrombie was born to John Wesley and Wilma Murrin, in Washington D.C. in 1960. She was raised and attended school in Bryans Road and Indian Head, Maryland and later moved to Florida, where she met her former husband James. She and Jim then moved to Houston, Texas where she gave birth to her daughter Alicia in 1983. Her son Wyatt was born in in 1989. Leslie was thrilled when Alicia gave birth to her granddaughter Kora in 2016.
Leslie worked for many years as a Pharmacy Technician in Houston, TX for a wholesale pharmaceutical distribution center. She had a passion for reading books and she loved to spend time outside on her swing reading and watching birds eat from the feeder. Leslie had a kind and gentle heart towards animals, especially cats and dogs. She often cared for her “grand-dogs” for her son or daughter, and they enjoyed being spoiled by her! In her last few years, she found joy in having neighbors’ small dogs around her, as well as her son’s dog. Leslie spent her final days coloring pictures of puppies and enjoying TV shows.
Her daughter and son miss their mother dearly, and ask that friends and family take a moment of silence to remember her and her big heart. They plan to spread her ashes in the near future.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the owners and staff at Comfort Care Assisted Living Facility for their efforts, care and dedication towards Leslie during the last year
