November 11, 1955 - May 15, 2025
Leslie Ann LaGrone Garza passed away peacefully, leaving behind a trail of laughter and love. Born on November 11, 1955, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Marilu Sims and Kenneth Wayne LaGrone. Leslie lived a life full of heart, humor, and deep compassion.
She shared a joyful life with her beloved husband, David Garza. Leslie loved being outdoors and loved the time she spent fishing with her dad and her husband, boating and wade fishing Bolivar Island, Galveston, Rockport, wherever they could bait a hook. She also loved spending time in her adopted home in Goliad, where she enjoyed just sitting outside reading her bible, watching birds, deer, fox, turkey, and all other wildlife. She didn't need much to make her happy and content.
Leslie had a gift for making ordinary days special, whether it was through a home-cooked meal, going out with her friends, or a laugh that could light up a room.
A devoted little sister to Wayne LaGrone and the late Blake LaGrone, Leslie was a loving friend to Nicole and aunt to Michelle and Dustin; Katheryn, Lacy, and Rachyl, who will all miss her big heart and even bigger hugs. She now reunites in Heaven with her parents, brother Blake, and her nephew Jordan where they are no doubt having a welcome home meal with lots of green chilies.
Leslie took great care of those around her, especially her mom in her late years. Her deep connection to people and animals alike was matched only by her remarkable ability to truly see others - an empathy that made her the kind of friend, sister, wife, and aunt everyone felt lucky to have.
A celebration of Leslies life will be held at Community of Faith, where we'll gather to share stories, shed a few tears, and of course, laugh - just the way she would have wanted.
Leslie taught us that life is best lived with open arms, warm queso, and lot's of kisses. Her memory will forever be a blessing - and a reason to smile.
