Lester Bayona Chapman, a beloved Husband, Father, Pater (as his grandchildren fondly call him), went home to his eternal rest in the arms of our Lord Jesus, late Wednesday, 05 February 2026, at Memorial Hermann-Katy, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 68 years old.
He is survived by MariVic, his wife of 42 years and best buddy of 46 years, beloved son Kyle C., daughter Lauren S., son Drake C., grandchildren Jaxon, Dominic, and Shane, along with son-in-law David S. and daughter-in-law Erika C., and a big family circle of brothers, sisters, aunties/uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and in-laws… all whom he treasured and loved and who loved and treasured him in return.
Lester loved and leaned on God and was a faithful parishioner of St. Faustina Catholic Church. He was known throughout his life as a man of high integrity and character… an honest man to a fault, a hard worker and someone who would do anything for his family and close friends. He taught his family to always treasure and enjoy each moment and to love and support each other, and by example, to sit and talk for hours about anything and everything, and to laugh voraciously. He had a no-holds barred laughter that was hilariously contagious. He also enjoyed movies, games, mahjong, good food and traveling.
During his working years, he was a facilities engineer and computer technician with several companies and retired from ProLogis in 2024. He was a man who was very skilled with his hands and could fix almost anything. He passed on those skills to his children.
A Funeral Holy Mass for Lester will be held at St. Faustina Catholic Church on Thursday, 05 March 2026 at 3PM. A Funeral Liturgy Outside of Holy Mass will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery Chapel followed by interment/burial on Saturday, 07 March 2026, 2PM. Onsite reception follows.
