Letitia Wiredu Newmann passed away peacefully at her home in Houston, Texas, on October 29, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by family and love. Born in Kwabeng, Ghana, West Africa, she was the youngest and last surviving child of her parents, Newman Agyako Wiredu and Dora Amoakoa Kesewa.

She began her journey in Ghana, where she attended training college, married, and had three children. After relocating to the United States, she met and married Benjamin Ohene Kwaku Newmann, and together they had two more children.
Letitia pursued higher education in the U.S., becoming a nurse and serving with compassion for over 20 years. Later, she transitioned into entrepreneurship, founding a trade business that connected and supported the Ghanaian community across the country through the sale and exchange of goods.
She is lovingly remembered by her five children: Mercy Buck, Richard Nelson, Matilda Nelson, Kwabena Akuffo Newmann, and Nana Amma Oye Funk.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Augustus Nana Osei Tutu II, Lauren Buck, Julian Funk, Naomi Newmann and Emelia Funk.
And her great-grandchildren: Mai-Ly Tutu, Augustus Tutu III, Minh-Nhi Tutu and Joseph Nagel.
