He is survived by his daughters Cheryl and her husband Robert Ater, Cindy and her husband Keith Kendall, and his son Greg Witt. Five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
He enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of seventeen and was a veteran of World War II. Loyd Retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after thirty-nine years, and then went into the dog boarding and grooming business for ten years.
He was a life member of the VFW Post 8905, a life time Committeeman of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, life time Vice President of the Houston Farm and Ranch Club, life time member of the Telephone Pioneer Club, and a Life time President of the Hold’em Club.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038. A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 11:00am at American Heritage Funeral Home with a committal service to follow to the Houston National Cemetery.
