Lidia Rojas Uresti

Lidia Rojas de Uresti, age 74, entered into paradise July 17, 2023 in Humble, Texas, in the comfort of her daughter’s home and surrounded by family. Lidia’s firm belief in God and devoted loved ones supported her in the battle against cancer and ultimately gave her peace.

She was born in Matehuala, San Luis Potosí, México to Praxedis Rojas and Maria Cruz Ortiz de Rojas. Lidia arrived in Houston at the young age of 15 with a goal to support her parents. At the age of 21, she married her love, Arturo. Shortly after, they expanded their family and were blessed with six children. Lidia, along with her husband, raised her children in the church and taught them the importance of putting God first in all they do. She was a successful sales lady for Home Interiors for over 25 years. Her strong work ethic set a great example to many. Lidia loved the Lord, loved to serve and loved to give.

She is preceded in death by her father, Praxedis Rojas and her son, Marcos Uresti.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Arturo Uresti, Sr., her mother, Maria Cruz Ortiz de Rojas; children Zulema Uresti, Arturo Uresti, Jr., Veronica Uresti, Raquel Solis and her husband Eliseo Solis, Ana Maria Hernandez and her husband Waldo Hernandez; grandchildren, Alfonso Reyna, Jr., Ernesto Reyna, Emily Lidia Uresti, Veronica Olivia Uresti, Mea Zulema Uresti, Arturo Uresti III, Marcos Uresti Bravo, Norma Dalilah Bravo, Mateo Andres Bolaños, Liliana Gutierrez, Breanna Kaylie Solis, Jeremiah Luke Solis, Tristan Hernandez, Faith Hernandez, Sofia Isabella Hernandez, Zoe Hernandez; Siblings, Nicolasa Garza, Enedina Rojas, Maria Elena Moreno, Jose Isabel Rojas, Alvaro Rojas and numerous extended family members and friends.

A visitation for Lidia will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church, 25 Tidwell Rd, Houston, TX 77022, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM.
