Lillian was the ninth out of thirteen children of Theresa and William Hnatyk born August 21,1929 in Vonda, Saskatchewan, Canada.
Her first job was with the Hudson Bay Company in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada as an office clerk where she met her husband Clifford Malkovicz from Zealandia, Saskatchewan, Canada. They married in June 2, 1950 and moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Clifford worked for James Richardson and Sons as a broker for five years before changing careers and moving to Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to go to work for an oilfield supply firm, Mid-Continent Supply Company. The company provided a transfer, thus relocating the family from Edmonton back to Calgary and in 1966 to Fort Worth, Texas. Three years later the family made their final move to Houston, Texas. Once Lillian was use to the Texas climate, she swore she would go back to Canada to visit in the summer but never again endure the cold Canadian winters.
Lillian and Clifford’s three children were born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; Sharon, Dale and Laurie. The children received the majority of their schooling in Texas thus they sound more like Texans than Canadians!
Lillian enjoyed traveling, gardening, spending time with her family, and daily trips to the YMCA.
Lillian is survived by her daughters, Sharon Malkovicz, Laurie Clepper (Bruce), and grandson Aaron Blankenship. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Clifford, son Dale, his wife Adriene and her son-in-law Bruce. The family finds comfort in knowing that Lillian is now reunited with loved ones who preceded her in death.
The family sends thanks and appreciation to the caregivers and staff at Avanti Senior Living Towne Lake as well as the nurses and staff at Aspire Hospice for the loving care and assistance given to Lillian!
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Houston Food Bank at https://secure.houstonfoodbank.org/
