Lillian McLean

For the first two years of her life, she was raised in Katy, Texas. The family then moved to Sealy, Texas where she was raised for the reminder of her life. Lillian made friends easily. She was kind, caring, funny, and helpful to everyone she met. She loved horses, cats, birds, dogs, in fact all animals! She loved swimming camping, taekwondo, sewing, jewelry crafting, drawing, painting, and music.

Lillian grew up hearing all different genres of music, but she favored metal, Linsey Stirling, gothic rock, emo, and classical. As Lillian matured, her love for playing violin blossomed. She was self-taught, then moved into formal lessons, joining a chamber group, then cumulating in orchestra, and playing with ECHO Orchestra. She went on to share her love of music by teaching young students violin. She loved teaching them and watching them excel.

Lillian had a sweet creative spirit. In all that she did, she brought forth an uncompromising elegance that emanated from her and shined out to those around her. Lillian greatly cared about others and was sensitive to other’s needs, whether it was just to listen or to comfort with a thoughtful act.

Lillian’s father introduced her to Ham radios at an early age. She took the FCC test and passed with flying colors receiving her handle of KN5LRM. Throughout the years the family attended Ham Fest, participated in the Fox Hunting and joined the SETAC Club. The family loved to gather with them, have fun, talk on the radio and enjoy the comradery. Lillian cherished that time with her father. He lost his battle to cancer, a little over two years ago, going Silent Key. She was daddy’s little girl and she missed him deeply, but she forged onward.

Lillian had a big heart and she loved her family and friends and was filled with hopes and dreams.

Her passing on July 20, 2020, was heart breaking, but our lives are better from having her presence having touched us. She will be remembered as the vibrant, passionate, loving soul that she was.
