Lilly graduated in May 1984 from Second Baptist High School, from The University of Texas at Austin in 1988 and the University of Houston Law Center in 1991. She was the first third-generation graduate of the Law Center. After graduation, Lilly served as a briefing clerk for Justice William Junell, 14th Court of Appeals. Lilly entered private practice in 1992 accepting a position with the Houston office of Baker & Hostetler, LLP where she was admitted as a partner in 1999. Despite her many achievements and accomplishments, Lilly walked away from the practice of law in 2000 to pursue her true passion – full time mother to her two sons, Trey and Will. She was very active in the community serving at her boys’ schools, with The Blue Bird Circle, The Houston Symphony League, Delta Gamma Fraternity, and on the Board of the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary. Lilly later returned to the practice of law opening her own firm, Breitbeil & King PC.
Lilly was predeceased by her beloved paternal grandmother, Amelia King Thrower and grandfather Vern Thrower, maternal grandparents Hulon and Eloise Crawford; mother Evelyn Crawford Thrower and daughter Anne Amelia King. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Allen A. King, Jr., sons Allen A. (Trey) King, III and William L. King and her little dogs Colin and Albert; father and step-mother Greg and Carole Thrower; sister & brother- in- law Kimberly and Richard Lucas, Jr., nieces Lilly and Lindsay and nephew Pryor Lucas; sister & brother-in- law Amanda and Edward Burnett and niece Haley Burnett; cousins Lilly Andress and husband Thurmon and Robert Moore; uncle V. Lynn Thrower, cousins Lance & Logan Thrower and their families; Pat and Allen King, Sr., and sister-in law Karrie King Lindquist and her family. She was also survived by very special friends Ms. Janet Sims and family and Ms. Diane Hirtz-Spencer and family.
The memorial service is to be conducted at two o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, the 25th of April, at First Presbyterian Church, 5300 Main Street, Houston, Texas 77004 where Senior Pastor Jim Birchfield is to Officiate.
A private family burial will have taken place at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
