

Limmie D. Phillips, Jr. was born on June 19, 1942 in Oil City, LA to Rev. Limmie D. Phillips, Sr. and Mattie Pearl Jackson-Patterson. Limmie D. moved to Houston (Carverdale), TX at the age of 19. He worked for Bagdad Carpets for several years, and then later started his own company, Phillips Carpet & Cleaning Services. He met and later married Jessie Mae Hester and they shared a special relationship until his death. Limmie D. loved to barbeque and did so for family, friends, reunions, churches and many others. He also cooked finger-licking good turkey necks and once you ate them you would crave for more. He joined St. James Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Melvin Smith. He also fellowshipped with and worked for the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C.L. Jackson. Limmie D. was fun-loving and a free-spirited guy who was kind-hearted and loved to share what he had with others. Waiting for his arrival in Heaven are his parents and his brother Albert Phillips. He leaves memories for Jessie Mae Phillips, Children - Shirley (Ronnie), Carolyn (Claude), Larry, Michael (Ruth), Loretta (Leonard), Limmie Darnell (Andrea), Terard (LaShonda), Sister - Jackie Hammond, 18 Grandchildren, 31 Great Grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
