Linda Gail Crawford, 56, of Spring, Texas entered into rest on November 23, 2018. She was born in Houston, Texas on August 30, 1962 to parents Edgar and Ada Hysmith. She married James Crawford on June 29, 1980.

Linda had a career with AIG as an IT Manager, but in every other waking moment she lived to spoil her grandkids, nieces, and nephews. Everyone she knew felt the depth of her affection and were always welcome to share in the warmth of her home and family. Linda was known for her big heart and her curious soul, always eager to immerse herself in the glorious world around her. She loved to explore and dip her toes into the crystal waters of every beach she could find during her cruises. As a Houston native, her hometown was always close to her heart and she remained a loyal fan of the Houston Astros, the Houston Texans, and NASCAR.

Linda was preceded in death by her son James Jr. She is survived by her loving husband James Crawford; daughter Melanie; grandchildren Claudia, Robert, and Adam; siblings James Hysmith, Michael Hysmith, Bob Hysmith, Rick Hysmith, Sherry Joyner, and Lisa Bunch; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on November 30, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. inside the Chapel of American Heritage Funeral Home, 10710 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston Texas 77038, after which her family would like to invite all of Linda’s cherished friends to join them in the sharing of her memory during a reception from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. inside of the Magnolia Room of American Heritage Funeral Home.

Gail was my colleague and friend. When I started my career at AIG (then American General) Gail shared not only her knowledge but her friendship with me. Over the years, we spent time outside of work enjoying many activities together including tailgating at Texans games. Gail was a very caring person; anytime I saw her she always made a point to ask how my family and I were doing. I will miss her deeply.

My thoughts and prayers are with Gail’s family during this difficult time.

Gail will always be in our heart and memories. Fortunate to work with her for last two years and her guidance always helped to come across difficult obstacles. I will be missing my mentor and a good friend. May her soul rest in peace and Lord gives the family all the strength to cope up with the loss.

We wish to let Gail's family know they are not our prayers. We are former AG/AIG employees like Gail and we enjoyed sharing our work careers with Gail.

A warm personality, Abundance of knowledge, A hearty laughter, Hard Working and Professional to the Core....these are a few virtues that stand synonymous to Gail at work place. I have been closely working with her for the past few months and the more you know her the more you realize what a wonderful individual she is. She will be sorely missed as a colleague and as a friend.

Our heartfelt condolences to Gail's family and close friends in this hour of grief. May her soul rest in peace.

I’d like to express my heartfelt condolences to Gail’s family. Ever since I started working with, and got to know her, I always felt she was somehow gifted with the ability to remember things that no one else could. She could rattle off the top of her head all the minute details of a project. So many people depended on her. She’s probably already keeping a heavenly folder of notes . I will miss her dearly. God rest her soul!
