Linda Knabeschuh Moncla of Houston, Texas went to be with the Lord on June 16th, 2018. Friends are invited to visitation with the family from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 21st, at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024. A memorial service at 11:00 am on Friday, June 22nd in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77024, with a catered reception to follow in the Event room at Earthman Funeral Directors at Hunters Creek.
Linda was born in Louisville, KY on July 28th, 1955 before moving to Beaumont, TX as a young child. She graduated from Forest Park High School and attended Lamar University. Linda married Gary Moncla in 1975 and had two children, Kerry and Amber.
Linda worked at the courthouse for Jefferson County until she retired in 2010. In her retired years Linda was an avid fan of the Louisville Cardinals and Texas A&M athletic programs. She enjoyed playing card games and board games, especially crazy eights with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed time with her dog, Trixie and all of her friends at Brookdale.
Linda is survived by her son, Kerry Moncla and his wife Gail, of Beaumont, her daughter, Amber Berend and husband Seth of Houston, her sisters, Susan Knabeschuh of Beaumont, Joan Knabeschuh of Beaumont and Janet Hurst of Dallas, brothers Donald Knabeschuh and his wife, Becky of Houston and Louis Knabeschuh and his wife, Shannon of College Station and her four grandchildren, Kaily and Luke Moncla of Beaumont and Abby and Nate Berend of Houston. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Ann Knabeschuh and brother, Dennis Knabeschuh.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Humane Society or to the COPD Foundation. The family of Linda wishes to thank everyone for their love and support.
