Linda Kay Scearce

Known for her caring and warm personality, Linda was devoted to her son, and she cherished her personal time with family and friends alike. In her work life, Linda was a kind, dedicated, and career-oriented person.

Linda served some fifty years in the law enforcement profession, beginning as a radio dispatcher and retiring in 2023 as the Communications Supervisor for the Harris County, Precinct Seven Constable's Office. In addition to her working for the citizens of Harris County for some 45 years, she also worked for over 10 years as a radio dispatcher for Wyatt Ranches of Texas. Linda was known for her genuine care and concern for those she watched over by way of radio communications. She would not rest until a caller was assisted with police services, a deputy was out of harm's way, or a ranching associate made it safely home. Her attitude of service before self and her devotion to others' safety shall never be forgotten.

Linda is survived by her son, Daryle Cuherpin (Blair); and by her brothers, Mike Scearce (Sharon) and Ronnie Scearce (Celeste). She is also survived by her nieces, Cara Smith (Michael), Carla Holycross (Todd), Christy Chapman (Wyatt); her nephews, Michael Scearce, Chad Scearce (Ashley); several great-nieces and nephews; and a host of devoted friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, the late Richard Lee Scearce and Rosemary Scearce; and by her two brothers, the late Steven Scearce and Ricky Scearce.

A memorial service, to honor Linda's life, was held on April 13, 2024, at the Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek in Houston, Texas. After the memorial service, and in accordance with her expressed wishes, an inurnment service was held at the Tasajillo Division of Wyatt Ranches, where Linda was laid to rest adjacent to a lifelong friend at the Wyatt Ranches Cemetery in Duval County, Texas.
