Linda June Tumlinson, 87, was born June 2, 1939, in Sulfur Spring, TX, and passed away October 24, 2026. A beloved presence to those who knew her, Linda’s life was marked by generous love, a compassionate spirit, and a cheerful way of meeting each day that lifted the people around her. She was a resident of Maynard, Arkansas.
Linda grew up in Houston and graduated from Galena Park High School. From the start, she carried herself with a steady warmth—someone who made room for others, listened with care, and offered kindness in ways both simple and unforgettable.
For 20 years, Linda served as a stenographer for the City of Houston before retiring. Her work reflected the same steady devotion she brought to everything: showing up, doing the job well, and being someone others could rely on.
Outside of work, Linda delighted in the everyday pleasures that turned a house into a home and an ordinary moment into something worth remembering. She loved reading mystery books, enjoyed settling in with her crime shows and The Price Is Right, and took real joy in cooking for the people she loved. Many will remember her signature dishes—corn casserole, chicken and dumplings, and her chicken stew—made with care and shared with the kind of generosity that never asked for anything in return. She also loved fishing and enjoyed traveling with her dear friend Pasty, creating bright memories along the way.
A proud member of Maynard Methodist Church, Linda loved attending church, and her faith and fellowship there were an important part of her life. Whether among family, friends, or fellow church members, she had a way of making people feel welcome—loved, seen, and at ease.
Above all, Linda loved being a mother and a grandmother. She loved her family deeply and treasured her friendships, holding close the people who mattered most and giving of herself with a tenderness that will be remembered for years to come.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, E.C. and Muriel Williams; her first husband, Truman Dale Lawler; and her second husband, Dean Tumlinson.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Arsement, Scott Lawler, and Mark Lawler; her brother, Gary Williams; and a host of grandchildren and friends.
