

She was born to a Portuguese real estate investor and was the oldest of six children. Liz went away to school in England. After school, she came to Texas, met and married John James Patton, an attorney from Illinois and had one daughter. Liz later married "Shad" Roland Paxton Estlack, an engineer from Kansas.
Liz was preceded in death by one sister; father, Jose DaGama; brother, Ricardo DaGama; both husbands; mother, Lourdes DaGama, and brother, Zeca. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2005. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen (Kathy) Patton Penny, son-in-law, five grandchildren, one sister Teresa, one brother Joao, three nieces and one nephew.
She attended St. Michael's Catholic Church in Houston, Texas for decades and was involved in and started several church clubs that are still established today. She was a independent business woman, real estate investor, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend. She was funny, spiritful, outspoken, loving, caring, compassionate and determined. The phrase "never give up" applied to Liz.
Liz was an active Rotarian in Houston up until her illness. She spoke seven different languages which helped her, through Rotary, aide children needing medical surgery by translating for doctors . She received an award as International Rotarian for her efforts of putting others needs above her own.
The family would like to make a special thanks to all those that have cared for her including Jeannine Flynn and making special mention of her caregiver, Angelia.
