They say losing a parent is one of the hardest things a person can go through. I never truly understood that until I lost you.

No matter how old we get, a part of us always remains someone’s child. We spend our lives knowing our parents are there, and even when life becomes complicated, we never imagine what it will feel like when they’re gone. The world keeps moving, but ours changes forever.

Mom, our journey together wasn’t perfect. Life wasn’t always easy for either of us. We had difficult chapters, hard conversations, and time that can never be given back. But through it all, you were my mother, and I was your daughter. Nothing could ever change that.

The pain of losing you is greater than I can put into words. It is the ache of knowing I can never call you again, never hear your voice, never see your smile, and never have one more conversation. It is grieving not only the person you were, but all the moments we will never get to share.

If I could have one more day with you, I would spend it telling you how much I love you. I would tell you that despite life’s struggles, despite our imperfections, you mattered. You were loved. You are loved.

I hope you knew that in your final moments.

Today I say goodbye, but I will carry you with me always. In my heart, in my memories, and in the person I continue to become. The bond between a mother and daughter does not end with death. It lives on in a thousand small ways, every single day.

I miss you more than words can say.
